With the Pinterest algorithm update, you no longer need to post 20-30 pins per day just to gain attention for your posts. The key now for Pinterest, to help your content get discovered and gain traffic to your site, your shop, your Instagram platform is in focusing on creating fresh pins. The truth is, you can just even focus on pinning 1-2 fresh pins a day to help your account slowly get discovered.

Before we go deep into the discussion of how you can create 10 pin variations for your post on Pinterest, let’s quickly discuss what a fresh pin is!

What are fresh pins?

Fresh pins are basically any new image that you use to pin on Pinterest. No, you don’t need to push out new content daily just to pin it on Pinterest. You just have to create different images that will link to a single post.

Say what?

That means, if you have a lot of blog posts that you have pinned for in the past, you can again promote them on Pinterest! You just have to create different pin images and that will be considered fresh pins.

Again, the key is in creating different images you can use to promote your content. This is also good because you get to explore A/B Testing!

What about A/B testing?

In creating different images for your pins, you are exploring as well what type of pin layout, font combinations, callouts, and formats work best to help you get discovered and gain engagement and clicks to your content!

Remember, different people react differently to pin designs. So, in creating different images you get a better understanding of what works and what doesn’t.

Ready to discover how I create 10 pins for a single post? Let’s get to it!

How To Create 10 pins for a Single Post

This is the step-by-step approach I do to help me create 10 or more pins for a single post.

1. To get started, I choose a post I will promote on Pinterest. For purposes of this post, a sample would be the pins I have created to promote it on Pinterest.

2. Next, I create pins that will focus on the main title and subject of the post, I will use different headlines and different layouts for this.

3. After I have those pins, I will look at some pins, duplicate and play around with a different color combination (that is still on brand) and also replace stock photos that I use

4. Knowing that my ideal audience likes infographic or list like pins, I also create at least two different pin designs for the infographic approach

5. Covering the main subject, I will then look at sub-subjects I can highlight or even a quote on the post I would want to highlight

Now, this approach has helped me create 10+ pins just for this post alone - which I will schedule to go out in 10+days on Pinterest. Now, that is 10 days covered with at least 1 fresh pin!

What made the creation of the pins easier for me is the templates I have created. With the templates I have done, I just need to update the copy, play around with different call-to-actions, and replace the stock photo I use!

Believe it or not, the 10+ images I have shared here took me just 15 minutes to create!

Now, getting started with Pinterest, you may not have those templates yet. There are free ones on Canva you can use - but these might be used by a lot already. So you should still do tweaks and look at your insights to see what works and what doesn’t.

However, if you don’t want to spend time searching on Canva, you can easily get my Pinterest Canva Templates on my Etsy store!

These templates are tried and tested and have helped me and my clients gain results on Pinterest. With one client gaining a jump of 10k impressions, me 70k impressions, 500+ saves, and 173 clicks in just a month!

The Pinterest Pin Pack has 90 templates that you can play around with covering blog posts, YouTube/Reel content, digital product/freebie pins, and even infographics! Now, all you need to do is edit the copy, change the images, and apply your brand colors and font types!
