Holiday Content Ideas: Five Instagram Reels Ideas for Your Business

Already planning your holiday content? How about Instagram Reels content? While it might be easier to create images or static content, it can get a bit complicated with reels - but I have listed down five Holiday Instagram Reels Content Ideas to help you get started.

Why Use Instagram Reels?

You’re probably wondering why you should Instagram Reels, whether for the holiday season or in general when it comes to your Instagram content.

It can help you reach more new people for your account.

New people = new possible people to buy your products/book your services and follow you.

It has been no secret that reels and video content are boosted more by Instagram nowadays - so to stay on top of the curve, doing Instagram Reels is a must.

Just how many reels should I post?

Ah, you’re probably wondering if you should post multitudes of reels. While some have suggested doing 3-4 reels per week. My recommendation is to stick with what you can sustain. The last thing you want to do is experience fatigue in doing one reel over the other on top of managing your business.

Five Instagram Reels Ideas for the Holidays

Let’s get down to it then! I will go direct to my recommended content ideas for the holidays and you just have to choose and tweak based on your business!

1. Holiday Gift Guides

This one is fairly simple, the concept is to just list down your holiday gift guides for your audience. The beauty in this? If you are offering different products, you can do a series of Instagram reels to cover:

  • Gift ideas for her

  • Gift ideas for him

  • Gift ideas for mom

  • Gift ideas for dad

  • Gift ideas for your best friend

  • Gift ideas for your special someone

  • Gift ideas for everyone in your family

  • Stocking fillers

So, this first Instagram Reel content idea can help you produce up to 8 (or even more reels)! Just get creative and don’t be afraid to use trending sounds or Christmas song sounds!

2. End of Year Update

Your followers are there not just because of what you sell or services you offer, they are there because they support you - so why not do an Instagram Reel with a list of updates or achievements you were able to get because of all of your followers help?

3. Holiday Celebration Tips

Now, this can go different ways based on whether you are a service entrepreneur or your are selling products. Let’s tackle both!

If you are a service entrepreneur, let’s say a photographer, you can share Holiday Celebration Tips on taking family photos or photos with your loved ones. Here you can give them different pose ideas or ways to capture images (again this can turn into a series of reels you just have to be creative). So, if you are offering a service, like me, just think of the holidays and how you can relate it to your niche!

Now, if you are offering a product - let’s say a skincare product. You can share holiday celebration tips on how to unwind before or after a major holiday celebration. You can relate to the stress people feel and how it can affect their skin - then sharing products and a routine they can do. Again, like with service entrepreneurs, look at your niche and how you can relate it to your audience.

4. Holiday DIYs

Everybody loves a good DIY - whether it be in crafting, cooking, or gifts. So why not create a reel doing a DIY related to your niche?

Example?

For a service-based business, let’s say you are a social media manager. Why not show your audience a reel creating a DIY holiday-themed post that businesses can do using Canva?

For product-based businesses, how about DIY on how to decorate your home? If you are an ethical company selling sustainable products you can teach them how to decorate their home using sustainable products you offer and others too!

5. What You Look Forward to in 2022

Ah, the last one. This can be your last reel for 2021!

Create a reel that will highlight your special plans or give your audience teasers on what is to come the next year - something they can look forward to!

What now?

It is totally up to you to explore more reels ideas for the holidays - my last tip is to have a look at reels and even Tiktok content to see what’s trending and how you can adapt those holiday trends for your business!
