The Instagram Strategy Basics
Thinking of launching your social presence on Instagram? Before the content pillars, the visual branding, and your hashtags - cover the basics! While having a content strategy, a well thought out branding and a set of hashtags for your posts are good - if you don’t have your basics covered you might just get burned out because you don’t have much clarity yet.
Think of your Instagram Strategy as your recipe, there are basic ingredients you need before you add anything else.
What are the Core Ingredients for your Instagram Strategy?
Ready to start cooking up your Instagram Strategy, here are the three core ingredients that you need to have before you start mixing up other ingredients.
Ingredient #1 Your Why
Do not underestimate this.
It is so important to have a why - your main reason for being in business, the one that you will go back to when you feel burned out or feel like quitting. Dig deep and ask yourself, why are you launching your product or your service? What is the main goal of going into business?
Ingredient #2 Your Ideal Audience
The second core ingredient?
Knowing who your audience is. They are the people who you want to help out.
For this, start with the basic demographics - their age, gender, location. Then go deeper and get to know them better. What pages do they like and follow? What are they passionate about? What makes them get up and make an action. Most importantly, what is it that keeps them up at night.
Ingredient #3 Your Unique Selling Proposition (USP)
This shouldn't just be for big brands.
For brands like Coca Cola, Red Bull, and Burger King - they have that secret sauce. A certain uniqueness to the brand that they are selling.
Take a page from their playbook and apply this to your business too! Identify what it is unique about what you are offering that your ideal audience will buy from you.
You need that secret sauce to make you stand out from the rest of your competition.
Let’s Combine It All To Make Your Business Statement
To wrap the above core ingredients you should be able to fill in this statement.
I am (your name/your business).
I help (your ideal audience) who (their main problem that you will help them with) through (your offer and your USP).
